Tarang is a unique ensemble of young adult musicians that present a dynamic blend of South and North Indian classical, contemporary and folk melodies. All of Tarang's music is newly commissioned, and written by world renowned composers. Tarang's members are selected from some of the best young performers of the country, and they receive high profile performance, training and development opportunities. Tarang premiered at the Sangeet Sabha international conference of Indian music in September 2004 at The Lowry, Salford Quays.
Samyo is the UK’s first national South Asian Music Youth Orchestra. Some of the UK’s brightest young musicians come together to play music from the North and South Indian musical traditions. Traditionally, Indian music presents a small ensemble of up to five or six musicians, but Samyo presents up to twenty young talents on stage playing together, in one of the most exciting spectacles on the British Arts scene. With members recruited nationally, the orchestra is fast becoming both prestigious and a fast track to artistic recognition. For further details please log on to www.samyo.org
